WOMEN’S GOLF CLIMBS ONE SPOT AT BUCKNELL INVITATIONAL

RESULTS

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Sparked by a seventh-place performance by Alexandra Austin, the Radford women's golf team moved up to fifth following Sunday's final round of the Bucknell Invitational hosted by the Bison at the par 70, 5,998-yard Bucknell Golf Club.

"What I saw from our team is very encouraging," head coach Jeff Beeler said. "We beat some quality programs this weekend. We will work on cleaning up some of the mistakes we made and be ready for William & Mary's tournament next week."

William & Mary recorded a three-round 912 (310-302-300) to post a 10-shot victory over Columbia and Seton Hall. Siena was fourth at 938 (325-308-305), six swings clear of Radford's 944 (312-323-309).

Austin's 11th career top-10 was made possible thanks to her final-round 74. The junior tallied a two-day total of 230 (78-78-74) to finish eight shots behind Siena's Victoria Nguyen and Columbia's Michelle Piyapattra.

Kirsty Condon notched her seventh career top-20 showing, tying for 16th at 235 (75-81-79). Three swings behind her was Hayley Hammond, who placed 27th at 238 (79-83-76).

Making her collegiate debut this weekend, Olivia Jay tied for 37th at 245 (80-81-84). Rounding out the Highlanders' lineup was Paige Reese, who fired a 249 (80-89-80) to finish 48th in the 89-player field.

Up next for Radford is the three-day William & Mary Invitational, which begins Sunday, Sept. 15 at the Kingsmill Resort's Plantation Course in Williamsburg, Va.
