RESULTS

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Despite three of the singles matches going three sets, Radford was only able to secure one point as Davidson prevailed, 6-1, in nonconference women's tennis action Saturday at the Knobloch Tennis Center.

The Wildcats (1-2) secured the doubles point thanks to wins at the top two flights. Elaina Cummer and Brites Moniz-Soares downed Taylor Newman and Gemma Valls, 6-0, at No. 1 doubles. Jenna Brunner and Nisha Crouser clinched the 1-0 lead for Davidson with their 6-1 triumph over Meg Napolitano and Grace Sarver in the second slot.

In singles, the Wildcats grabbed the top three flights to clinch the dual. Grace Sarver, Sara Andrade and Gisela Garcia all went three sets in their respective matches. However, Garcia was the only victor as she outlasted Elise Held, 2-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-3), to secure the lone point for the Highlanders (1-1) at No. 6 singles.

Radford concludes its three matches in three days Sunday when the Highlanders square off with Marshall at 11 a.m. in Huntingdon, W.Va.
