RADFORD CONCLUDES PLAY AT HOKIE FALL INVITATIONAL

UPDATED DRAWS

BLACKSBURG, Va. –
Radford women's tennis wrapped up competition Sunday at the Hokie Fall Invitational with five more victories. Virginia Tech hosted the three-day event at Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center.

Taylor Newman led RU on the final day with three wins, including a 6-3, 6-3 triumph over Catherine Martin of Wofford in Flight A singles. Due to her usual doubles teammate, Gemma Valls, withdrawing with an illness, Newman partnered with Natalie Sayer for the first time this season to go 2-0 in Flight B doubles.

Meg Napolitano rebounded from a straight-set loss to James Madison's Rachel Nelson by defeating Livin Xu of Penn State in three frames (6-3, 3-6, 6-2). She finished 3-1 in Flight D singles action this weekend to improve to 5-2 in fall tournament play.

In Flight E singles, Taylor Fay topped Morehead State's Alek Savic (6-3, 6-4) to place fifth in the bracket.

The Highlanders will return to Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center in a couple weeks when they compete in the ITA Atlantic Regional, which will be hosted by Virginia Tech.
