RADFORD, Va. – Radford men's golf opens the spring portion of its schedule Monday and Tuesday (Feb. 17-18) at the Wexford Intercollegiate hosted by Francis Marion on Hilton Head Island in South Carolina.
The 54-hole tournament will once again be played on the Wexford Plantation course, which measures 6,828 yards and is a par 72 layout. 36 holes are to be contested Monday, with the final 18 to be finished Tuesday. Both days will commence with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
In addition to the Patriots and the Highlanders, Austin Peay, Campbell, Charleston Southern, Cleveland State, Dayton, DePaul, Elon, High Point, Ohio, Presbyterian College, Richmond, USC Aiken, VCU, Wofford and William & Mary are scheduled to compete in the 17-team field.
Radford placed 12th at this event last year as former men's golf standout Weston Eklund posted a top-10 performance. The Highlanders hope to build upon a strong fall where they finished inside the top eight at each tournament, and had five individual top-10 showings.
RU carries a 291.5 scoring average into the spring, while Tanner Carbaugh holds the best individual scoring average for the Highlanders at 73.1. In addition to Carbaugh, Callum Tarren, Conner Hayden, Ryan Rettberg and Nick Brediger are set to tee it up for Radford.
Live scoring is not available for the tournament, but updates will be posted at @RadfordMGolf throughout each round.
