HICKLING HIGHLIGHTS DAY 2 OF CCSA CHAMPIONSHIPS



KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Senior Skye Hickling placed sixth on the one-meter board on day two of the CCSA Championships, Thursday evening at the Alan T. Jones Aquatic Center on University of Tennessee's campus.

RESULTS
 
In the evening session, Hickling posted a score of 242.50 for her highest career finish on this board at the championships. Earlier in the day, she qualified for the finals with the second best score of the prelims. Her 258.15 was less than a point off her season best.
 
Radford sits in 10th place after two days of competition. Four Highlanders churned out personal bests in the time trials Thursday morning. Freshman Lindsey Anderson's 2:15.03 in the 200 individual medley was 2.23 seconds faster than her previous best, which gives her the seventh best time in program history. She now owns three top-10 times (200 & 400 IM, 1000 freestyle).
 
Joining Anderson were junior Claire Doherty and freshman Marinda Kitchen in the 50 freestyle with times of 25.46 and 25.71, respectively. Also, freshman Deanna Friedel annihilated her previous time in the 200 IM by 7.5 seconds with a 2:23.47.
 
The Highlanders wrapped up the evening, finishing 11th in the 200 freestyle relay. The squad of freshman Laura Bradley, Doherty, senior Jessica Frazelle and sophomore Yvonne Smith registered a 1:40.01, the fastest time this season in this event.
 
On Thursday night, the Highlanders' 200 medley relay team consisting of sophomore Mary Flinn, senior Haley Schweitzer, Doherty and Smith placed seventh in the opening race of the championships
 
Radford returns to the pool at 10:00 am for day three preliminaries.
