HICKLING CONCLUDES SUCCESSFUL CAREER AT NCAA ZONE CHAMPIONSHIPS

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. -- Senior diver Skye Hickling concluded a successful collegiate career as the program's first competitor at the NCAA Zone A Championships. She finished 43rd (1-meter) and 41st (3-meter), respectively over the first two days of competition at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center.

Owner of both school records, Hickling was one of 52 competitors on Monday afternoon and posted a score of 193.00. She competed against 46 other divers on 3-meter board and recorded 198.75 points.

"I am very proud of Skye for making the meet," said head coach Ian Coffey. "Ending your career at the NCAA Zone meet is a great accomplishment. She did a great job working with Logan Kline to improve and make the meet."

Her school-record performance of 285.80 on the 3-meter board at the CCSA Championships earned her the NCAA qualifying mark, which also allowed her to compete on both boards.

Hickling's mark came in the preliminary rounds of the CCSA Championships, which she followed up with a fifth-place showing in the finals, her highest at the championship meet, and her second best score of her career (282.15).

Earlier at the CCSAs, Hickling totaled a 242.50 on the one-meter to place sixth overall. It was the first time she dove in the championship session on the respective board after posting 258.15 points in the prelims.
