HICKLING SET TO COMPETE AT NCAA ZONE A CHAMPIONSHIPS

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. -- Following a school-record performance at the CCSA Championships, senior diver Skye Hickling takes part in the NCAA Zone A Championships on March 10 & 11. Held at the Christiansburg Aquatics Center, both days begin with preliminaries at 12:00 p.m. and finals at 2:30 p.m.

As Radford's first NCAA Zone qualifier, Hickling will be one of 52 competitors on Monday trying to earn one of 18 spots into the finals of the 1-meter board. Tuesday, she will compete against 49 other divers for a spot in the 3-meter final.

Her school-record performance of 285.80 on the 3-meter board earned her the NCAA qualifying mark, which allows her to compete on both boards this week. Hickling's mark came in the preliminary rounds of the CCSA Championships, which she followed up with a fifth-place showing in the finals, her highest at the championship meet, and her second best score of her career (282.15).

Earlier at the CCSAs, the owner of both school records (1 & 3 meter) totaled a 242.50 on the one-meter to place sixth overall. It was the first time she dove in the championship session on the respective board after posting 258.15 points in the prelims.
