RESULTS

ELON, N.C. – Elon won the doubles point and captured all six singles matches to earn a 7-0 nonconference women's tennis win over Radford Saturday afternoon at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.

With its third win in a row, the Phoenix improve to 3-4 on the season. On the other hand, the Highlanders suffer their fourth straight loss to drop to 1-4.

After winning the first set (6-3) on court two against Barbora Lazarova, Taylor Newman was edged (7-5) in the second set. Since the match was already decided, the third set went to a 10-point tiebreaker, which Lazarova won.

Competition does not get any easier for Radford on Sunday as the Highlanders make the short drive over to Blacksburg to battle the 47^th-ranked Virginia Tech Hokies. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center.
