HAMMOND TIES FOR SECOND AT MIDDLEBURG BANK INTERCOLLEGIATE



ROUNDS 1-2

RADFORD, Va. –
Hayley Hammond tied for second, while the Radford women's golf team finished fifth following Sunday's 36 holes of play at the Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate hosted by William & Mary at Kingsmill Resort's River Course (par 72, 6,100 yards) in Williamsburg, Va.
 
Logging five birdies on the day, Hammond carded a 149 (74-75) and tied Mariana Juaristi of Fairleigh Dickinson. The duo ended five shots behind individual frontrunner Amanda Steinhagen of Longwood, who returned an even-par 144 (71-73) to the clubhouse.
 
Alexandra Austin tied for eighth at 158 (81-77), while Olivia Jay was 45th at 169 (85-84). One stroke behind and in 46th place was Paige Reese, who charted a 170 (88-82). Kirsty Condon was one shot behind Reese at 171 (87-84), which tied for 47th.
 
With four of its golfers inside the top 10, Yale topped the team leaderboard at 616 (305-311). Fueled by Steinhagen's ledger, Longwood finished second at 626 (322-304). Fairleigh Dickinson (632), William & Mary (637) and Radford (645) completed the Top 5.
 
Due to inclement weather, tournament officials consolidated the three-day tournament into a one-day tournament.
