CONDON NAMED WOMEN’S GOLF SCHOLAR-ATHLETE OF THE YEAR



CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Kirsty Condon has been selected the 2014 Big South Women's Golf Scholar-Athlete of the Year as announced by the conference office Friday morning. Her honor was voted upon by nine of the league's sports information directors.
 
In addition to majoring in foreign language with a concentration in German, Condon has four minors: French, Spanish, management and marketing. Despite the workload and responsibilities of being a student-athlete, the senior has earned a 4.0 GPA through seven semesters of study.
 
"Kirsty is the perfect example of a student-athlete, and I couldn't be happier for her," head coach Jeff Beeler expressed. "Holding a 4.0 throughout college while balancing athletics is extremely impressive."
 
To go along with her academic achievements, Condon has the third-best scoring average on the team at 80.8. Her season-best finish came at the Big South Preview where she carded a 79 to take 14th. The Lincolnshire, England native becomes Radford's third scholar-athlete of the year in program history, joining Laura Tereby who won it twice (2003-04).
