Highlanders Compete at ECU Pirate Invitational

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The Radford women's golf program wrapped up competition at the ECU Pirate Invitational Tuesday afternoon with Macy Johnson and Grace Addison leading individual competition as the team placed 11th.

Johnson led the Highlanders' individual efforts for the first time this Fall, using a strong final round Tuesday to place tied for 41st. Johnson used three birdies and an eagle on the ninth hole to finish even in the third round, the best round on the team on Tuesday.

Tying her for the top finishing spot was Addison, who also finished the tournament at 9-over and tied for 41st overall. Addison started strong in the tournament recording seven birdies, the most by any Highlander in a single round at the tournament, finishing at one-under.

Right behind Johnson and Addison was Caroline Gilreath who scored consistent first, second and third rounds to finish at 10-over tying for 45th overall. Tying with Gilreath was also Shea Smith, who used a solid first and second round performance to finish tied for 45th overall at 10-over as well.

Radford will continue their Fall campaign in a couple weeks when they compete in the UNCG Collegiate. Hosted by UNC Greensboro at the Forest Oaks Country Club, Radford will compete between Monday, October 20th and Tuesday, October 21st.
