HAMMOND CLIMBS TO T-13TH AT BIG SOUTH WOMEN’S GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP

ROUND 2  |  LIVE SCORING

NINETY SIX, S.C. –
Hayley Hammond carded her second-straight 76 to guide Radford during Monday's second round of the 2014 Big South Women's Golf Championship at the par 72, 6,083-yard The Patriot Golf Club.

Playing the back nine first with Longwood and Winthrop, the Highlanders finished with a 323 to tie the Lancers for eighth at 634. Campbell extended its lead in the team race to 27 shots over Coastal Carolina by firing a 1-over-par 289.

The Camels' 567 is a 36-hole Big South championship record. Campbell has the top four golfers on the individual leaderboard, led by Tahnia Ravnjak and Louise Latorre, who are 3-under-par. Back-to-back 297s plant the Chanticleers in second place, 11 shots clear of High Point.

Tied for 13th at 152 (76-76), Hammond rebounded from a 2-over-par start with birdies at the par-4 14th and par-5 18th to make the turn at even-par. She had four bogeys coming in to go along with five pars for her 76.

Despite hitting the ball better today, Olivia Jay could not get the putter working as she brought in an 84. Her 159 (75-84) is tied for 30th. Alexandra Austin is tied for 33rd at 160 (79-81), while Paige Reese is tied for 40th at 165 (81-84). Kirsty Condon is 43rd at 168 (86-82).

For Tuesday's final round, Radford will play with Charleston Southern and Longwood off hole No. 10 at 10 a.m. With rain and thunderstorms in the forecast, the tournament schedule may have to be adjusted. The first update will go out to coaches at 8 a.m. should the delay extend past 10 a.m. A shotgun format will be used if the delay extends past 12 p.m., with a final decision on play being made by 2 p.m.
