Radford plays host to ACC foe North Carolina State on Tuesday at RU Baseball Stadium. First pitch between the Highlanders and the Wolfpack is set for 6:00 p.m. New River Valley Classic Cruisers will also present Cruise-In Night, which begins at 4:00 at the stadium. RU and N.C. State have not met on the diamond since the 2011 season.

The two teams have met 10 times in the series with N.C. State holding an 8-2 advantage. All but one of the previous games has been played in Raleigh. The only visit the Wolfpack made to Radford came in the 1992 season when RU posted a 7-5 victory. Radford's only other win in the series came in extra innings, 7-6 (10), in the 1997 campaign. The two teams have played three times during the Joe Raccuia coaching era at Radford. NCSU has won all three, 11-2 in 1998, and 6-3 and 8-1 in a two-game series in 2011.

North Carolina State (29-21) dropped an 8-5 decision in 10 innings to Wake Forest on Monday. The Wolfpack have played 15 straight games at home before hitting the road to Radford. NCSU has won eight of 11 games following the game against the Demon Deacons.

Radford (30-19) has won five straight games and 11 of its last 13. This is only the fourth time in school history an RU baseball team has won 30 games (1995, 2011, 2013). This year's team is now just one victory away from tying the school record of 31 wins set in 2011 (31-25). The Highlanders can also tie the school record for most games above .500 with a win Tuesday. Twice in Radford baseball history the Highlanders have been as many as 12 games above .500 (1989, 1993) during the course of the season. With the sweep at UNC Asheville over the weekend, Radford clinched its sixth straight winning season, which is a school record.
