AUSTIN GUIDES WOMEN’S GOLF ON FIRST DAY OF FOREST OAKS FALL CLASSIC

GREENSBORO, N.C. –
Senior Alexandra Austin fired rounds of 73 and 78 to lead the Radford women's golf team in Monday's opening 36 holes of the Forest Oaks Fall Classic hosted by UNC Greensboro at the par 72, 6,267-yard Forest Oaks Country Club.
 
On the strength of seven birdies, Austin's 151 is tied for 18th on the individual leaderboard. Five of those birdies came in the morning's first round. She is nine strokes behind overnight leader Katy Harris of Mercer, who carded a 2-under 142 (70-72).
 

Steady play was the theme for Khushboo Thiagaraj in her first 36 holes of competition. The freshman logged 14 pars in the afternoon round to post a 2-over 74, which was Radford's best tally the second time around Forest Oaks. Her 153 (79-74) is tied for 23rd.
 
Larissa Carter is tied for 62nd at 160 (77-83), while Meagan Board shot a 171 (90-81) and is 87th. Olivia Jay rounds out the lineup at 175 (90-85), which is tied for 92nd.
 
Elon has set the pace in the team standings. The Phoenix signed for a 599 (298-301), which is nine shots clear of James Madison, Rollins and Maryland. Radford fired a 635 (319-316), which is 17th in the field.

RU is paired with Big South foes Longwood and Presbyterian for Tuesday's final round, which begins with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. The trio will tee off on holes 15-17.
