SAYER EARNS FIRST BIG SOUTH HONOR OF CAREER

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Radford freshman Natalie Sayer has been selected the Big South Conference Women's Tennis Freshman of the Week as announced by league officials Tuesday afternoon.

"Natalie executed her game plan well last weekend," head coach Martin Sayer noted. "It was a good start to her Big South career. I believe with more repetition and matches, her level of play will increase substantially."

The England native charted a 3-1 ledger last week, including a 2-0 mark in doubles. Partnering with Taylor Fay, the duo defeated Gabrielle Wreder and McKayla Zupan of App State (8-6) and Ameryn Soldier and Hunter Hall of UNC Asheville (8-1).

Sayer recorded the Highlanders' first point in their Big South opener against UNC Asheville on Saturday, cruising to a 6-1, 6-1 triumph over Erika Rivero at the top singles position.

Radford is next in action at Richmond on Monday, March 2. RU is set to clash with the Spiders at 2 p.m. in the Commonwealth's capital.
