WOMEN’S TENNIS COMPLETES SUNSHINE STATE SWEEP AGAINST SOUTH DAKOTA

ORLANDO, Fla. – It was an enjoyable spring break for the Radford women's tennis team as the Highlanders defeated South Dakota, 5-2, Friday to complete a 3-0 trip to the Sunshine State.

The Highlanders, who improved to 3-7, were once again stellar in doubles competition. Natalie Sayer and Taylor Fay won for the fourth straight time at the No. 3, cruising to an 8-1 triumph over Alice Scott and Dragana Brankovic.

Grace Sarver and Meg Napolitano clinched the doubles point with their 8-0 performance on court 2 against Yamini Reddy and Rymma Maslova. Taylor Newman and Gemma Valls made it a doubles sweep when they defeated Milica Pavlovic and Yuliya Sidenko, 8-3, at the top flight.

RU continued its dominance in singles, as Fay, Napolitano, Valls and Sarver prevailed to put the Highlanders on top, 5-0. South Dakota (5-5) got on the board with a pair of wins at the top two positions.

After playing its first 10 matches away from home, Radford finally makes its season debut at the Radford University Tennis Complex Thursday, March 19 at 2 p.m. when the Highlanders host Charleston Southern.
