SAYER, SARVER SECURE WINS FOR WOMEN’S TENNIS AT RICHMOND

RICHMOND, Va. – Natalie Sayer and Grace Sarver outlasted their opponents in three sets, however, Radford fell on the road, 5-2, to Richmond Monday evening in nonconference women's tennis action at Westhampton Tennis Complex.

Sayer picked up her second straight singles triumph with a 7-5, 1-6, 1-0 (9) victory over Anna Abadias Morales at the top flight. Sarver followed with her first singles win of the dual season, taking down Katya Salas, 7-5, 3-6, 1-0 (8), in the fourth slot.

Richmond (4-2) won the doubles point and the first three singles decisions to clinch the match. Despite the loss, Radford could have very easily swayed the result in the other direction. Doubles competition was tight and three of the singles bouts went three sets.

The Highlanders (0-5) jump back into Big South play Saturday, March 7 at 1 p.m. against Campbell in Buies Creek, N.C.
