CARTER GUIDES WOMEN’S GOLF IN ROUND ONE AT HILTON HEAD

ROUND 1

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – Freshman Larissa Carter carded a 78 to lead the Radford women's golf team in Saturday's first round of the Low Country Intercollegiate hosted by Wofford at the par 72, 5,922-yard Moss Creek Golf Club.

The host Terriers are tied for first with Princeton at 309, two strokes clear of third-place High Point. Jordan Lippetz of Princeton recorded the lowest score of the day with a 73 to lead the Tigers. RU (327) is in 10^th place out of the 15 teams competing.

Carter, who was bolstered by a 1-over-par front nine, was the lone Highlander to shoot in the 70s. She is tied for 11^th place with 18 holes to go.

Alexandra Austin, Khushboo Thiagaraj and Olivia Jay all recorded an 83 and are tied for 45^th. Meagan Board rounds out the lineup in 73^rd place after logging a 92.

Radford will begin its final round of competition Sunday at 9:30 a.m. with a shotgun start. The Highlanders will be paired with Towson and Presbyterian.
