WOMEN’S GOLF RALLIES WITH BEST ROUND OF TOURNAMENT TO TAKE SIXTH

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – Entering the day in 10th place, the Radford women's golf team combined for a 308 on the final day of the Low Country Intercollegiate at the Moss Creek Golf Club (par 72, 5,922 yards) to finish in sixth on Sunday. Freshman Larissa Carter turned in the Highlanders' best round, shooting a 75 to finish in a tie for sixth overall.

Radford rallied on the final day with a team-low 308 to finish with a final mark of 635. The only other team to match the Highlanders' performance on Sunday was SCAD-Savannah, which finished in third with a two-day tally of 621. Princeton and Wofford tied for first, both shooting a 618. The Tigers won via the tournament's team tiebreaker rule.

Carter entered the day tied for 11th after carding a 78 on Saturday. Through 12 holes on the final day, she remained in 11th, but five pars on the final six holes catapulted her into a tie for sixth. Carter carded two birdies on the round.

Alexandra Austin recovered from an opening 83 with a 4-over-par 76 on Sunday. Austin recorded three birdies on her front nine en route to a 37. Austin finished in a tie for 20th overall.

Khushboo Thiagaraj tied for 25th with a two-day total of 160. After shooting an 83 on Saturday, Thiagaraj turned in a 77 for her final 18, highlighted by an even-par 36 on the back nine.

Olivia Jay shot an 80 to bring her weekend total to 163. The sophomore tied for 33rd. Meagan Board carded an 88 to finish with a 180, which placed 72nd in the field.

Princeton's Jordan Lippetz and SCAD-Savannah's Sofia Molinaro were declared co-champions after both returned a 2-over-par 146 to the clubhouse.

Radford will play its final event before the conference tournament, March 30-31, at the Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate in Williamsburg, Va. William and Mary will host the 54-hole tournament at Kingsmill Resort's River Course.
