CAMPBELL PREVAILS AGAINST WOMEN’S TENNIS, 5-2

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – In a battle between two Big South women's tennis programs searching for their first conference victory, Campbell prevailed, 5-2, over Radford Saturday afternoon at the James Nisbet Tennis Center.

The Camels (5-6, 1-2 Big South) swept doubles action to earn a 1-0 edge. Campbell proceeded to claim four of the six singles decisions.

Taylor Newman and Meg Napolitano picked up their first dual wins of 2015 for RU (0-6, 0-2 Big South). Newman defeated Irina Karangozishvili, 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (12-10), at No. 2 singles. Napolitano took down Claudia Ortiz in straight sets (6-2, 7-5) at the sixth flight.

Radford is back in action Sunday, March 8 in Rock Hill, S.C., when the Highlanders square off against Winthrop at 1 p.m.
