WOMEN’S TENNIS FALTERS AGAINST IN-STATE RIVAL LIBERTY, 6-1

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Liberty kept its hopes alive for a Big South women's tennis regular-season championship Wednesday afternoon by defeating Radford, 6-1, at the Hershey-Esbenshade Tennis Courts.

The Flames (16-3, 6-1 Big South) captured all three doubles results and secured five of the six singles points. Gemma Valls was the sole Highlander to record a win, outlasting Evangeline Crist in three sets (6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (10-5)) at No. 3 singles.

The Highlanders (4-10, 1-6 Big South) will return home Friday, April 3, when they take on Presbyterian College. First serve is set for 12 p.m. at the Radford University Tennis Complex.
