Taylor Fay and Karlie Pope both picked up a singles and doubles win to headline the Radford women's tennis team's performance Friday at the USC Upstate Fall Classic in Spartanburg, S.C.
Tarrannum Handa advanced in Draw I on the strength of her 6-4, 7-5 triumph over Carol Sigaki of USC Upstate.
Handa faces Alexandra Mercado of Kennesaw State at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
Fay dispatched UNC Asheville's Lauren Brooker in straight sets (6-2, 6-4) to set up a battle with Nicole Croxton of Presbyterian in Draw IV.
In the lower half of the same draw, Pope breezed through Kennesaw State's Gabriela Bueno (6-3, 6-2). She faces Western Carolina's Montse Mesalles in her next round.
In doubles, Fay and Pope combined for the Highlanders' only victory on the day, a 6-3 win over a duo from UNC Asheville in Draw D.
