SAYER AND DZEUBOU ADVANCE IN ITA REGIONAL DOUBLES BRACKET



NORFOLK, Va. – The Radford women's tennis team continued their fall campaign in the 2016 ITA Atlantic Regional, hosted by Old Dominion. The opening day of the regional consisted of singles qualifiers and doubles main draw action.
 
In the only doubles match of the day for the Highlanders, Natalie Sayer and Drousile Dzeubou teamed up to defeat Longwood's Anna Pelak and Jamie Breunig in the doubles main draw opening round. The Sayer/Dzeubou tandem defeated the Big South foes 8-2 in the opening round.  
 
With the win, Sayer and Dzeubou will face Virginia Tech's No. 8 seeded duo of Elena Cerez-Codina and Natalie Novotna, Saturday morning at 9 a.m.
 
Sayer competed in the singles qualifier, dropping her match to George Washington's Maria Siopacha 6-1, 6-2.
 
In her singles qualifier backdraw, Sayer faced Carolina Lewis of West Virginia, falling 6-4, 6-5.
 
On Saturday, Dzeubou will take on William & Mary's Maria Groener at 1 p.m.
