SARVER COLLECTS TWO WINS IN 5-2 LOSS TO GARDNER-WEBB

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Radford nearly missed collecting its second Big South win on the season, dropping a 5-2 match to Gardner-Webb on Monday afternoon.

The Highlanders started the day off right as Grace Sarver and Natalie Sayer picked up a quick doubles win with a 6-3 decision in the No. 1 spot.

RU was unable to grab the doubles point, dropping the next two matches.

Trailing 3-0, Tarrannum Handa gave the Highlanders their first win on the day with a 7-5, 6-0 decision in No. 2 singles action.

Following the Handa victory, Sarver picked up another big victory, pulling Radford within 3-2 of Gardner-Webb. Sarver earned a 6-2, 6-2 decision in No. 4 singles.

Radford was unable to collect the final two points, dropping the match 5-2 to Gardner-Webb.

The Highlanders (1-12) will conclude the 2016 regular season this weekend with UNC Asheville on Friday and Campbell on Saturday.
