GEORGETOWN, S.C. – Behind an eight-stroke improvement from its opening round, Radford moved up to seventh place following Tuesday's second round of the 2016 Big South Women's Golf Championship at the par 72, 6,082-yard DeBordieu Club.

A strong finish fueled the Highlanders to a 317 for their second 18 holes of competition. RU, which has a cumulative 642 (325-317), is only eight shots behind sixth-place Presbyterian College (634).

Individual frontrunner Nadine White (143) aided top-seeded Campbell to a 293 on Tuesday, which vaulted the Camels ahead of defending champion Coastal Carolina in the team race. Campbell (589) clings to a two-shot advantage over the Chanticleers (591) with one round to go.

Larissa Carter, who recorded two birdies on her inward nine to notch a 1-under-par 35, returned a 76 to the clubhouse to pace the Highlanders on the second day. Her 36-hole 155 (79-76) is tied for 18th.

Despite getting off to a rocky start, Khushboo Thiagaraj rebounded on her second nine to post an 80. She ran in a birdie at the par-5 ninth (her last hole) to conclude her round on a high note. The sophomore is tied for 26th at 157 (77-80).

On the strength of her second-best round ever at the conference championship, Olivia Jay signed for a 78 and is tied for 30th at 158. She also charted a birdie on No. 9 after nestling her approach to a few feet.

Highlighted by a chip-in for birdie on the par-3 14th, Meagan Board logged an 84 in her second round. The Roanoke, Va., native is 40th at 173 (89-84). Right behind is Morgan Cox, who trimmed 10 shots off her opening round—the most by any Highlander. The sophomore, who was the first of four RU golfers to birdie the par-5 ninth, fired an 83 and is 41st in the field at 176.

Radford is paired with Longwood and High Point for Wednesday's final round, which gets underway for the trio at 8:30 a.m. off the 10th hole.
