RADFORD'S COMEBACK BID FALLS SHORT, CAMPBELL HOLDS ON FOR 4-3 WIN

RADFORD, Va. – Radford and Campbell went down to the wire in deciding a winner as Campbell picked up a 4-3 victory as Isabel Boada defeated Grace Sarver in No. 4 singles (3-6, 6-1, 6-1), Saturday afternoon at a windy RU Tennis Complex.

After Campbell swept doubles, Taylor Fay got the Highlanders on the board defeating Claire Bedi 6-2, 7-5 in No. 5 singles.

The Camels earned a win in No. 2 singles, before Natalie Sayer evened the match with a 6-2, 7-6 (7-5) victory in No. 1 action.

Campbell took a 3-2 lead as Ewa Telenga took No. 6 singles by a score of 7-6 (7-4), 6-2.

Meili Martin gave Radford a chance to pick up their second Big South win on the season with a 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 comeback win over Maud Mrad in No. 3 singles.

The Highlanders were unable to complete the comeback as Sarver fell in No. 4 singles.

Radford (1-13, 1-7) concludes the regular season portion of its 2016 schedule with a senior day match versus UNC Asheville. Head coach Jessica Giuggioli will honor Grace Sarver and Taylor Fay before the 1 p.m. matchup.
