SAPPHIRE, N.C. – The Radford men's golf team returns to the course on Monday morning for the two-day Hummingbird Intercollegiate hosted by Western Carolina at the Country Club of Sapphire Valley.
For just the second time in tournament history, the 2017 Hummingbird Intercollegiate will play out at a 54-hole format with 36 holes of competition on Monday and the third and final round to tee-off on the morning of Tuesday.
After finishing six-under at the Janney Shootout on September 19, the Highlanders look to carry that momentum into the Hummingbird Intercollegiate. Myles Creighton birdied five of the front nine and two in the back nine in the final day of play. The senior finished nine-under for the whole tournament and tied for second place in the individual leaderboard.
A combined 16 teams -- 13 vying for the tournament team championship and three additional squads sending individuals -- comprise the 87-golfer field. Gardner-Webb, Charleston Southern and Presbyterian all join the Highlanders as representatives from the Big South. The individual competitors are from three ACC members, Clemson, Duke, and Wake Forest.
