DZEUBOU IMPROVES TO 3-2 IN BIG SOUTH PLAY; RADFORD FALLS 6-1

RADFORD, Va. – Playing its first home match since Feb. 11, the Radford women's tennis team dropped its conference home opener 6-1 to Charleston Southern, Monday afternoon at the Radford University Tennis Complex.

The loss snaps the Highlanders four-match winning streak, while falling to 0-5 in league play.

Charleston Southern made quick work of Radford in doubles play to collect the point. The Buccaneers continued their hot start, winning the first three singles matches to claim the victory.

Drousile Dzeubou and Natalie Sayer put together the strongest showings on the day. Dzeubou improved her winning streak to five straight, moving to 3-2 in Big South play with a 7-6 (7-4), 3-6, 1-0 (12-10). The freshman is 8-2 in the last 10 matches played.

Sayer played in a hard-fought match in No. 2 singles, eventually falling 6-2, 3-6, 1-0 (13-11).

Radford returns to action on Friday, hosting Wingate in a 3:30 p.m. match.
