RADFORD EARNS SECOND STRAIGHT WIN WITH 4-3 DECISION VS. WCU

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Radford women's tennis team earned its second straight victory as they defeated Western Carolina, 4-3, on Wednesday in a netural site contest in Orlando, Fla.

Radford got off to a strong start in the doubles competition as Karlie Pope and Yuliia Popova began the day with a 6-2 win over Lauren McCall and Alexa Webb, while Drousile Dzeubou and Claire Nguyen clinched the doubles point with a 6-2 win. In No. 1 doubles, Natalie Sayer and Meili Martin ended doubles play with a tough 6-4 loss.

Dzeubou defeated Savannah Taranto 6-0, 6-1 in the first singles competition, before Pope fell to Madison Riley 6-2, 6-4 in the second singles match to finish.

Sayer gave the Highlanders a 3-1 lead after she defeated Jordan Strickland 6-4, 7-5. The Catamounts cut it to 3-2 when Webb defeated Nguyen in No. 3 singles.

Radford clinched the victory as Martin defeated McCall in No. 4 singles. In the final match of the day, Popova fell to Elizabeth Ansari 6-1, 4-6, 4-6.
