NINETY SIX, S.C. – The Radford men's golf team is currently in eighth place as round one of the Big South Championship concluded on Friday at The Patriot at Grand Harbor in Ninety Six, S.C.
Myles Creighton is tied for eighth place after shooting a two-under (70). He started the front nine with four birdies on the first six holes. He finished the front nine three-under, but bogeyed two holes and birdied one to finish two-under.
Four of the other Highlanders rounded off eight birdies for 13 total birdies in the first round. Gareth Sargent was second with three birdies, but finished two-over (74). His finish led him to a tie for 26th place along with fellow Highlander Nick Brediger. He totaled two birdies in the front nine and parred seven of the back nine.
Ben Ramsey shot five-over and tallied three birdies in the front nine, but only recorded four pars in the back nine. Conner Lewis rounded out the squad shooting six-over and is in 41st place.
The Highlanders totaled 11 birdies in the front nine as a team and two players were under par and one was even.
