HAMPTON, Va. – The Radford women's soccer team will remain in the Commonwealth, but will travel to Hampton and face the Big South newcomer on Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m.

Radford and Hampton, who just began its women's soccer program in 2015, will compete for the first time on Wednesday.
HIGHLANDER HIGHLIGHTS
Radford has 27 goals on 187 shot attempts. The 27 goals are 12 more than its opponents. The Highlanders have outscored their opponents 16-7 in the second half alone. Jessica Wollmann has a team-high eight goals, while Nelia Perez leads the team with five assists. Jasmine Casarez has fired 56 shots, which is the most on the team. She has converted on three of those shots and has eight points. Holding down the back line is freshman Kayla Thomas and sophomore Lily McLane, who have the most minutes played on the team. Thomas has recorded 943 minutes, while McLane has logged 937.
NATIONAL RECOGNITION
As a team, the Highlanders are 16th in the country averaging 2.45 goals per game and 23rd in points per game averaging 6.7. Individually, Wollmann's team-leading four game-winning goals currently rank 15th among all individuals in NCAA Soccer. The senior also ranks 11th in the country with 2.5 shots on goal per game, while her eight goals are tied for 34th. Casarez's five shots per game as her ranked eighth in the country. The Highlanders are 87th in the RPI, which is the highest among all Big South teams.
LAST TIME OUT
The Highlanders won their second straight overtime contest of the season; this one was a 2-1 victory over Winthrop thanks to Gabi Paupst's golden goal in the 96th minute. The win gave Radford sole possession of first place in the conference standings.
ABOUT THE PIRATES
Hampton is in its fourth year as a program after starting the in 2015. After a winless inaugural season, the Pirates won two matches in 2016 and three in 2017. This season Hampton has posted a 1-7-1 record. The lone win came against St. Peter's, 3-0, in late August. The Pirates opened Big South play with a 1-1 tie against High Point, but have lost the last four by a combined score of 16-3. The Pirates have scored nine goals this season and Sydney Jackson has a third of them. She leads the team with three goals, two assists and eight points.
