WOMEN'S TENNIS CLOSES OUT FALL CAMPAIGN WITH SOLID SHOWING AT WOFFORD

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Radford women's tennis team closed out its fall season with a solid showing at the Wofford Invitational, held at the John E. Reeves Tennis Center this weekend.

Originally scheduled to be played over three days, the Wofford Invitational was shortened to just two days after heavy rains washed out any chance of playing on Friday.

Once play resumed on Saturday, the Highlanders were joined by Emory & Henry, Appalachian State, Western Carolina, Gardner-Webb, West Virginia State, Wofford, UNC Asheville, ETSU and Brenau.

TOP SINGLES RESULTS
Junior Anastasia Belyaeva picked up Radford's first singles win of the weekend, easily topping Jordan Strickland (WCU) 6-3, 6-1 in the Gold draw. Then on Sunday, she defeated Jenna Vroman (Wofford) with a final line of 6-4, 6-4.

Senior Drousile Dzeubou followed with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Lauren McCall to begin play in the Wofford draw. The Turin, Italy native then finished her weekend with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Anita Detlava (ASU).

Freshman Malin Falk kept the Highlanders' momentum going with a 6-4, 6-1 win against Peeraya Charoensirisutthikul (Brenau) in the Black draw. Falk then won the third-place match 6-3, 6-1 against Alejandra Morales (ETSU).

Sophomore Tyler Blalock did her part in the White draw, defeating Lauren Joch (Wofford) by a score of 7-5, 6-1. She then came back on Sunday to top Valentine Limauge (Gardner-Webb) 6-1, 6-3.

Bouncing back from a first round loss, sophomore Jeanine Acierto added another win to Radford's tally with a 6-0, 7-5 win against Gema Mendoza (BC). Acierto returned Sunday and dominated Christin Louw (UNCA) 6-0, 6-3 to win the consolation side of the bracket.

Freshman Marielle Leahy did the exact same thing in the College draw, dropping the first match of the weekend before earning a 6-2, 6-0 victory against Hanna Kruhlova (WVSU). Leahy then earned a consolation bracket win of her own with a 6-2, 6-0 win against Milca Panic (Gardner-Webb).

Freshman Katey Fruehauf struggled in her first two matches this weekend, but came back strong to defeat Alexa Webb (WCU) in a battle that ended 6-4, 3-6, 10-8.

Senior Lilly Ellick rounded out Radford players in singles play, beating Sydney Miller (WVSU) by a score of 6-3, 6-1 following a tough first round loss.

TOP DOUBLES RESULTS
Falk and Blalock got things rolling early Saturday morning in the Gold bracket with a 6-1 doubles win over Ristic/Saguchi (Gardner-Webb) in a Big South preview. The duo then topped Isbey/Hensley (WVSU) 6-3 before dropping the title match.

Belyaeva and Leahy took the court soon after in the Gray bracket and defeated McKnight/Kruhlova (WVSU) by a score of 6-2. Then after a tough loss in the semifinals, they defeated Sidor/Louw (UNCA) 6-4 in the third-place match.
