FRASER PICKS UP SINGLES WIN IN 5-2 LOSS TO GEORGE WASHINGTON

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Radford dropped a 5-2 match in the nation's capital to George Washington Saturday afternoon despite taking the doubles point.

The tandem of Drousile Dzeubou and Lotti Meszaros continued to dominate play in No. 2 doubles as the duo improved to 7-0 on the season with a 6-3 victory.

After George Washington knotted doubles up, freshmen Zoe Fraser and Jeanine Acierto captured the doubles point for the Highlanders with 6-4 win in the No. 3 spot.

After the Highlanders controlled a 1-0 lead in the match, George Washington won the first five singles matches.

Radford's lone win in singles action came from Fraser as she battled for a 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 victory over Victoria Kogan in No. 6 singles.

Tyler Blalock was the only other Highlander to win a set in singles play, taking Julia Herlogsson to three sets in No. 4 singles.

"George Washington is a tough team and we put up a good fight, however we came up a little short," said head coach Jessica Giuggioli. "This weekend was a good learning experience. We made great strides on how to compete as a team and we look forward to the next opportunity."

The Highlanders return to action on March 2 at Appalachian State for a 2 p.m., match.
