HIGHLANDERS FALL 5-2 TO CAMPBELL

RADFORD, Va. – Playing only its second home match of the 2018 season, Radford dropped its second consecutive 5-2 match, falling to Campbell on Thursday afternoon.

Campbell picked up wins in the first two doubles matches, taking No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. Natalie Sayer picked up the first of her two wins on the day, teaming up with Tyler Blalock for a 7-6 (3) victory in the No. 1 spot. With the win, the tandem moves to 9-7 on the season and 3-2 in Big South play.

The Fighting Camels took the first two singles matches as well, pushing its lead to 3-0. Sayer got Radford on the board with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Alexandra Andrivot in No. 2 singles. She improves to 8-7 on the season and 3-2 in league matches.

Campbell took wins in No. 5 and No. 3 singles to seal the match, commanding a 5-1 lead.

Drousile Dzeubou closed out the match with a 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 victory against Ana Castillo in No. 1 singles to move her winning streak to four straight. The sophomore is now 9-7 on the season with a 4-1 clip in Big South play.

Radford continues its home swing on Saturday, hosting UNC Asheville for a 1 p.m., match. The Highlanders have three Big South matches remaining on the docket with two at home.
