HIGHLANDERS DROP CONFERENCE MATCH VS. CHARLESTON SOUTHERN

RADFORD, Va. – The Radford women's tennis team dropped a match to Charleston Southern, 6-1, on Tuesday evening at the Radford Tennis Complex.

The Highlanders won the first match of the day as Jeanine Acierto and Anastasia Belyaeva defeated Filippa Ericson and Kimberley Koerner on court 3 in doubles. Then a pair of victories by Charleston Southern on courts 1 and 2 gave them a slight 1-0 lead.

It didn't get any easier for the Highlanders as Tyler Blalock and Jeanine Acierto fell on court 4 and 6, respectively. Then Michelle Schmitz on court 5 clinched the match for the Bucs, 4-0, with a win over Katey Fruehauf.

The Highlanders still had three matches to play. Malin Falk was the only Highlander to come out on top in the last match to finish. She defeated Koerner in three sets on court 3. She won the first set and dropped the second in a tiebreaker, but won the third set tiebreaker, 10-4, for her ninth victory of the season.
