GREENSBORO, N.C. – A trio of top-20 performances highlighted the opening day of the Starmount Fall Classic for the Radford women's golf team on Monday, as the Highlanders sit in fourth place through 36 holes.
Natalie Welsh leads the Highlanders through the first two rounds of play with a score of 5-over (149). Welsh is in a tie for eighth place and was leading the entire field after the first round of play after shooting an opening round 70 (2-under).
Jayde Dudley and
Sidney Walker are 8-over and 9-over, respectively, which places them inside the top 20 performers through the first two rounds.
Riko Nagai jumped four spots from her first-round performance and is tied for 30th after shooting 13-over across 36 holes.
As a team, the Highlanders shot a total of 35-over (611) and trail UAB, UNC Greensboro and Towson on the leaderboard. Radford leads the field in par-5 scoring for the tournament at 1-over and ranks third among all teams with 107 pars across the opening two rounds. All five Highlanders competing are 1-over or better on the par-5 holes in the tournament, while Welsh is also even on par-3 holes.
