HIGHLANDERS SPLIT DOUBLEHEADER AGAINST AGGIES AND FIGHTING CAMELS

BOX SCORE 1 | BOX SCORE 2 RADFORD, Va. – The women's tennis program split their double header today with a 6-1 victory over North Carolina A&T and a 1-6 loss against Campbell.

The first match of the day came in the conference-opener against Campbell at noon. The doubles point went the Camels' way despite tough play by the Highlanders. Radford took court three thanks to the play of Anastasia Belyaeva and Jeanine Acierto who won 6-4, but Drousile Dzeubou and Tyler Blalock came up just short on the deciding court.

In singles play against Campbell Belyaeva continued her doubles success by winning an intense 7-6, 5-7, 10-8 match on court one. Malin Falk and Acierto also forced courts three and five respectively to go three sets but were unable to convert as Campbell would take the match.

The latter match of the evening came against North Carolina A&T where Radford breezed through their competition. Falk and Katey Fruehauf teamed up on court one and won 7-5 to clinch the doubles point while Belyaeva and Acierto crushed their opponent 6-0 on court two.

Through singles play Belyaeva took her second match of the day on court one with a 7-6, 6-3 score. Falk cruised on court two to the tune of a 6-1, 6-0 score while the freshman Camryn McClure picked up her first singles victory of the season in her first regular season match on court six.
