CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Caleigh Street's stellar stretch this spring continues and she has been rewarded with her third Big South Women's Golf Freshman of the Week award, the conference announced Friday morning
The Richlands High School product put together one of the best rounds in program history to start the Kingsmill Intercollegiate earlier this week, carding seven birdies en route to a one-under par 71 in the first round.
Street went on to shoot 71-78-86—235 (+19) to tie for 19
th out of 79 golfers while in Williamsburg. She now has back-to-back top-20 finishes to her name and has earned a weekly conference award in two of the last three weeks.
This is the third time Street has been named Big South Freshman of the Week in her career, also earning the distinction on Sept. 16, 2021 and Feb. 17, 2022. She is the first Radford women's golfer to win the award multiple times in a single season since current teammate
Jayde Dudley won it five times in 2019-20.
After a year of hard work and preparation, the 2022 Big South Championships are nearly here. The Highlanders make their annual pilgrimage to The Patriot Golf Club in Ninety-Six, S.C. for the conference tournament on Wednesday, April 13 and will look to take home the title on Saturday, April 16.
