Highlanders Wrap Up Oyster Shuck Match Play with Big Win Over The Citadel

CHARLESTON, S.C. – In a dominant effort, the Radford women's golf team closed out the 2023 Oyster Shuck Match Play with a 4.5-to-0.5 victory over The Citadel on Tuesday.

After a pair of wins yesterday, Jayde Dudley picked up the most decisive victory on the team this time out, defeating Paige Gilstrap, 6&4. Freshman Shea Smith also carried over the momentum she started with a pair of wins on Monday, coming out on top with a 5&4 over the Bulldogs' Maggie Parmer.

Both Jimenna Ramirez and Hannah Lindemann played extremely close matches against App State yesterday, and came back strong with wins of 5&3 and 4&3, respectively.

Team captain Natalie Welsh rounded out the group with a well-played draw against Megan Ikeda.

James Madison's squad earned the Oyster Shuck Match Play title with a 3.0-to-2.0 victory over Western Carolina.

The ladies have nearly a month to work on their game before returning to competition on March 12-14 at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate. Hosted by Tennessee Tech, the tournament will be held at Sevierville Golf Club in Sevierville, Tennessee.
