GREENVILLE, N.C. – The Radford women's golf team led by a record-breaking second round from Macy Johnson would see the Highlanders place in a tie for 3rd in a shortened Pirate Collegiate Classic at the Greenville Country Club.
Macy Johnson would shine once again as she would lead the player leaderboard for the second time this season, posting the lowest score of 136 over the 36-holes in this year's Pirate Collegiate Classic.
The Sophomore would record a 70 (-2) to open the first round. Johnson would make history in the second after she would go 6-under par 66 to set a new individual single-round program record that was previously held by teammate Hannah Lindemann. Johnson would begin her second round at the 10th hole and go on to have an incredible back nine, making six birdies and going bogey-free. In the front nine she would bogey the 1st hole, but bounced back to officially clinch the record after carding her seventh birdie at the 9th hole.
Following her two rounds of 76 (+4) and 74 (+2) Caroline Gilreath would complete the tournament at +6 and find herself in a tie for 27th place out of the 84 golfers that competed. Gilreath would card two birdies in each round of the tournament.
Junior Shea Smith would find herself in a tie for 40th place. In the first round of the event, she would card a 78 (+6) picking up an eagle at the 9th hole. She would improve on her first-round score with a 74 (+2) in the second round, adding two birdies to her name in the process.
Hannah Lindemann would have a solid outing, shooting a 75 (+3) to close out the first round and followed up with a 78 (+6) in the second to give her a total score of 153, tying for 45th in the event.
Tying for 74th and rounding out the scoring was Kaitlyn Mosdell who recorded an 84 (+12) in the first round and an 86 (+14) in the second round to close out her outing at the Pirate Collegiate Classic.

The Highlanders will have some time off before making a return for the Edisto Island Invitational, which is set to begin on Sunday, Oct. 13 and conclude Tuesday, Oct. 15 with the event being held at the Plantation Course in Edisto Island, S.C.
