CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Radford women's golf team kicked off its spring season with a 1-1 record in the Oyster Shuck Match Play at Charleston Municipal Golf Course.
The Highlanders got off to a strong start, taking on the Mountaineers of Appalachian State and coming away with a 3-2 victory.
Grace Addison,
Shea Smith, and
Hannah Lindemann produced the three points, with Lindemann clinching the win.
Although a second round was scheduled to be played on Monday afternoon, heavy rain completely soaked the course and resulted in the cancellation of the remaining matches.
The change in schedule moved Radford on to the championship round where they faced off with the Western Carolina Catamounts on Tuesday. Smith grabbed yet another win, but the Highlanders fell by the score of 4-1.
