Highlanders Secure Win Over William & Mary to Open up The 2024-25 Campaign

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Radford women's golf team opened their new campaign with an impressive win over William & Mary at the Dual at Kingsmill on Tuesday evening with a final stroke count of 923-953. 


Macy Johnson picked up where she left off from last season as she was able to lead the player leaderboard, posting the lowest score of 225 over the 54-holes from Sunday through Tuesday.  
 

The Salem Va. native opened the first round with a 77 (+5). And would go on to improve from there as she was able to notch a 73 (+1) before finishing round three with a 75 (+3).  
 

Shea Smith would have an impressive outing on the course, improving with each round. Smith would finish round one with a 78 (+6) then improve to a 76 (+4) in the second round. On the final day she would notch a 74 (+2) knocking in the most birdies in the round with four. 
 

Caroline Gilreath would be just behind as she would finish at 13 over after playing the 54-holes posting an 83-73-73. The highlight for the sophomore would come in the second round as she was able to tack on five birdies to her card. 
 

Charlotte, N.C. native Hannah Lindemann would place herself fourth in the player leaderboard as she would finish at 17 over. She would card a 78 (+6) to open the event. She recorded an 80 (+8) in the second and saved her best stuff for the final round as she would post a 75 (+3) to close out the third round. 
 

Sophomore Mckenzie Weddle would post a total of 236 over the 54-holes. She would record an 81 (+9) to open the event. However, she would improve in each round from there as she would record a 78 (+6) in the second and have her best round in the third, notching a 77 (+5). 
 

Kaitlyn Mosdell would go on to record a total of 244 (84-82-78) over the 54-holes. Lillian Aune would round out the Highlander lineup as she would post a 262 total (82-87-93)
