Cross Country Sets Multiple Personal Bests in Final Regular Season Tune-Up

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Radford men's and women's cross country programs competed at the Panorama Farms Friday morning posting multiple personal bests and a new program top 10 mark in their final tune-up before the Big South Championships in a few weeks.

The women led off the morning placing 10th among a competitive field with Sophie Magson leading the program's efforts with another new program top 10 mark. Her third such program performance this Fall, Magson bested her previous personal best by 30 seconds with a time of 21:36.7 which now stands fifth all-time.

The freshman Cora Gentzel was the next to finish for the Highlanders, setting a new personal record, besting her previous time by 10 seconds. Delaney Eller made her second appearance of the season, placing third for Radford, setting another personal best with the Highlanders. Right behind Eller was a pair of freshmen Allison Nelson and Ruby Ostrander rounding out Radford's top finishers.

On the men's side of competition, Charlie Dance was the top Highlander finisher followed by Spencer Thacker and Quinlan Beegle. Liam McDonald and Jensen McCutcheon rounded out the Highlanders' top-five placements.

UP NEXT
With the regular season in the rear-view mirror, Radford will now turn its attention towards the Big South Championships. The men and women will compete for a Big South title on Friday, October 31st in Farmville, Va.
