Radvanyi Earns Big South Weekly Award

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Big South Conference announced Monday afternoon that Lexi Radvanyi has been named the conference's Co-Defensive Player of the Week following her great showing that helped Radford seal a 2-1 victory over USC Upstate last weekend.

Radvanyi's efforts on the defensive end were pivotal in Radford's win over USC Upstate last week. The junior goalkeeper made multiple diving stops to allow just one goal while facing a constant attack of 17 shots with 11 on goal. In a 1-1 tie, Radvanyi made three crucial back-to-back-to-back saves from the 67th through 70th minutes which allowed Radford to take a lead later in the match. Her 10 saves were a career-high mark, besting her previous high of nine.

The weekly award is the third for Radvanyi in her career and third the Highlanders this season. She joins fellow Highlander freshmen Ryane Devlin and Abby Walsh who earned weekly awards earlier this season. The award marks the tenth straight season that the Highlanders have earned at least three weekly awards in a season.

Radford is currently preparing for their next Big South battle. This time on the road, Radford will visit an upstart UNC Asheville squad for a 2 p.m. kick off on ESPN+.
