Last Time Out: Radford picked up their first win against a Division I opponent on Tuesday with a 59-50 triumph over Loyola Maryland at the Dedmon Center. Being tied at halftime, the Highlanders put together a strong second half, led by
Angelina Nice's 23 points and
Cate Carlson's 16 for their second win of the season. The Highlanders forced a season-high 27 turnovers and held the Greyhounds to just three free throw attempts.
McGuire to the Top: On Tuesday, Head Coach
Mike McGuire passed Radford Hall of Famer and first women's basketball coach Pat Barrett (1971-84) with his 194th win at the helm. McGuire is in his 13th season leading the program and is the longest tenured active coach in the Big South. He boasts a 194-175 (.526) record and a 102-47 (.685) record in home games. McGuire's looking for his fourth career win against a power opponent and second career win against Virginia. The Roanoke College alum last knocked off the Cavaliers during the 2018-19 season.
Scouting the 'Hoos: Virginia looks to bounce back after a shocking 61-56 loss to UMBC on Thursday night. They are led by hometown hero Kymora Johnson, who is averaging 17.0 points per game with seven made three-pointers and 17 assists. Johnson was named to the Naismith Trophy Player of the Year Preseason Watch List and was ranked No. 15 on ESPN's Top-25 women's NCAA basketball players going into the season. The Cavaliers are led by Amaka Agugua-Hamilton, who's in her fourth season at Virginia.
Series History: This is the 18th meeting between the two programs, with the series dating back to 1975. The Cavaliers hold a slight 9-8 edge after taking an 83-41 win over Radford last season. Radford's last win came on December 8, 2018, in a 57-44 victory. That was the Highlander's first win against Virginia since the 1978-79 season.
Nice Game: Sophomore
Angelina Nice had a career game on Tuesday, recording 23 points on 8-of-12 shooting, 3-of-7 from behind the arc, and 4-of-5 from the stripe in the win. Her previous career high was 10 points. After the outburst, Nice leads the team with 10 points a game.

A total of 42 of Radford's 59 points on Tuesday came off the bench, with most coming from Nice (23) and
