Women’s Golf concludes final tune up before championship season at ECU’s Ironwood Invite

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The Radford women's golf program got in one last tune up before the calendar flips to championship season with three rounds of action at East Carolina University's Ironwood Invitational at Ironwood Golf Course and Country Club across Monday and Tuesday.
 
THE BASICS
RESULTS: 11th out of 16 teams (+60)
TOURNAMENT: 2025 Ironwood Invitational (Hosted by ECU)
LOCATION: Ironwood Golf Course and Country Club (Greenville, North Carolina)
COURSE INFO: Par 72 course over 6,481 yards
TOURNAMENT INFO: 16 teams and 95 competing student-athletes
 
NOTABLES
- Caroline Gilreath led the way for the Highlanders as she finished in a tie for 24th with a +12 performance. She had a knack for the long ball over the three-day competition and tied for seventh with a scoring average of 4.92 on par 5s. She also finished tied for eighth with seven birdies.
- Both Hannah Lindemann and Macy Johnson were next as the duo tied for 48th overall at +17, respectively.
- Grace Addison was right behind them in a tie for 53rd at +18. She also tied for fourth overall on par 3s with a scoring average of par at 3.00 on those holes.
- Mckenzie Weddle (tied for 53rd, +18 as an individual) and Shea Smith (tied for 70th, +22) rounded out the three rounds for the Highlanders.
- Radford tied for the third-best squad at the tournament on par 3s with a scoring average of 3.20.
- The Highlanders also finished eighth overall as a team with 20 birdies.

UP NEXT
It is officially championship season as the Highlanders turn their full attention to the upcoming 2025 Big South Championships that runs April 13-16 at the Fripp Island Golf Resort in Fripp Island, South Carolina. The first three days of competition will be stroke play, while the final day with consist of match play between conference foes.
