Redmon Back to Form with First Weekly Award of the Season

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Big South Conference announced Monday afternoon that Dakota Redmon has been named Pitcher of the Week after a dominant weekend picking up wins over Liberty and UConn.

Redmon had a big bounce back week for the Highlanders tossing two gems and earning a pair of wins for the Highlanders over Liberty and UConn. In the weekend opener at Liberty, Redmon was dominant allowing just three baserunners for her first shutout of the season. In the victory over UConn, she shrugged off an early homer, struck out five, and steadied the ship for the eventual 5-2 win.

The weekly award is the seventh in Redmon's career after earning six weekly awards last season. The nod is the second for the Highlanders this season as Redmon joins fellow teammate Morgan Cooper who earned a Pitcher of the Week award two weeks ago.

The Highlanders are currently preparing for a midweek bout against ACC foe #18 Virginia. Radford's home opener is scheduled for a 2:00 p.m. start with the action being streamed on ESPN+.
