WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Radford men's soccer program made a late push, but it wasn't enough as a lone penalty goal saw Howard take the 1-0 victory over the Highlanders Saturday afternoon.

Discounting the one penalty goal given up, goalkeeper Ben Miller was great in the net for Radford totaling six saves.
Dax Booth and Brice Hall both had a trio of shots, with one each coming on goal.
Yellow cards were aplenty on both sides in the physical match, totaling six between the two squads.

PLAY BY PLAY
Saturday's match began quietly between the two squads as there was only one shot taken through the first 12 minutes. Booth fired Radford's first shot in the 14th minute and would shoot another on target in the 23rd minute that was saved. In the closing seconds of the half, Miller made a save on a shot by Howard to keep the score locked at 0-0.

Radford would get good pressure out of the locker room for the second half as Hall and Booth both got off shots that were blocked. In the 48th minute, though, Howard would score its deciding goal off a penalty. The goal was the third the Highlanders have given up via penalty this season.

Howard's attack continued past the penalty by taking the next three shots in the match, all on target. Miller was right there to keep the deficit at one with saves on each. In the 75th minute, Radford got some good looks as Noel Zimbeva fired a shot on goal that was saved and Jackson Boreham had his shot ring off the crossbar.

The Highlanders came up empty and mounted one last push over the final 10 minutes. Hall would get off a shot in the 81st minute that required a save by the Bison, but Radford would be unable to draw the tie or comeback as Howard held on for the 1-0 final.
