NORFOLK, Va. – The Radford men's soccer program had a rough first half that snowballed into a lopsided final at Old Dominion Wednesday night as the team fell 7-1.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

Dax Booth continued the trend through Radford's first three matches by being the fourth different Highlander to score this season.
The goal for Radford snapped a scoreless streak against Old Dominion that dated all the way back to 1985 including seven scoreless matches over that time.
Old Dominion controlled shot selection in the match with 13 of their 19 shots coming on goal.
10 of the Monarch's 13 shots on goal came after Radford's red card in the 19th minute.

PLAY BY PLAY
The scoring started early in a match that featured eight total goals. Old Dominion was able to slip through and score within the first minute of the match. Radford was able to bounce back well, however, flipping possession and putting pressure on Old Dominion. Just two minutes later, Brice Hall was able to get a shot off on target that was saved.

In the 19th minute, the officials would go to VAR and hand the Highlanders a red card that put the team in a hole for the remainder 70 minutes of the game. Down a man, the goals would start to pour in as Old Dominion scored in the 22nd, 27th, and 42nd minute to open up a 4-0 lead at halftime.

The scoring would quiet down at the start of the second half as the Highlanders tried to mitigate the damage. Behind 5-0 in the 71st minute, a hand ball in the box would give Radford a strong scoring opportunity off a penalty kick. Booth had no issues scoring the penalty for Radford, avoiding the shutout.

The Monarchs would answer with a pair of goals separated by just a few minutes, though, to pull ahead 7-1 in the 76th minute. That margin would hold over the final 14 minutes as the Highlanders took the tough 7-1 road loss.

When Radford returns to the home pitch on Saturday afternoon, the team will host its annual Senior Day against Bob Jones at 2 p.m. on ESPN+. Fans are encouraged to come early, as senior day festivities honoring the team's four seniors will begin at 12:45 p.m.
