RADFORD, Va. – The Radford men's soccer program took care of business Saturday afternoon with a Senior Day victory over Bob Jones that featured three different scorers in the 3-0 final.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

Jayce Pagano (4th minute), Martin Desir (46th minute) and Carter McClain (71st) each scored their first goals of the season. The trio are also the fifth, sixth and seventh different Highlanders to score a goal this season.
The goal was Pagano's first in his career in 14th start with Radford. The goal by McClain was the fourth in his career, after scoring three in 2025.
Zack Murphy posted a clean sheet in his first start in the net with Radford, playing the full 90.
Radford's defense did not allow a single shot in the match, the first such occurrence in over a decade for the program.

PLAY BY PLAY
Radford didn't wait long to break the ice in Saturday's match as the first goal came just three minutes in. Off a corner attempt, Noel Zimbeva would tally his first assist of the season on a perfect placement into the box that found the head of Pagano. With a header to the opposite end of the net, Pagano would get his first goal of the season and put Radford ahead 1-0.

The rest of the first half would come much quieter compared to the first three minutes. Amir Simpson, Dax Booth and Brice Hall would all get off shots on target, but Bob Jones' keeper made some strong stops to keep the score at just 1-0.

Coming out of the halftime break Radford scored similarly to the first half with a goal in the first couple of minutes. After a deflected cross ended up just outside the box, Desir was placed perfectly to play the ball off a short hop and rope a beautiful shot past the outstretched keeper to give Radford the 2-0 advantage in the 46th minute.

Possession would remain almost entirely with the Highlanders the rest of the way. Bob Jones would was held to zero shots overall in the match while Radford kept the pressure on with strong looks from Zimbeva and Hall before the next goal was able to cross in.

Immediately making an impact off the bench was McClain who intercepted a pass and diced through two defenders to create a one-on-one opportunity with the Bruins' keeper. McClain's 71st minute shot, just 20 seconds after subbing in, faced no interference finding the back of the net to vault Radford's lead to 3-0. That lead would hold with ease the rest of the way as the Highlanders sealed a 3-0 victory over Bob Jones.

Radford gets a week to prepare for their next match as they will go on the road to face Howard next Saturday, September 12th. Action is set for a 1:00 p.m. start on NEC Front Row.
